Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said she was confident the city would finish the distribution of the social amelioration program (SAP) cash assistance in all barangays on May 10, the final deadline set by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
As of Friday, the mayor said only around 10,000 families, or 22 percent of the target beneficiaries, had yet to receive the P8,000 cash aid.
The mayor attributed the delay to the “stringent” vetting of the SAP list and the lack of manpower. —JODEE A. AGONCILLO
