MANILA, Philippines — Forty-six more healthcare workers have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as the total infection rose to 1,934, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Friday.
The total number of recoveries among health professionals now stands at 449, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a televised press briefing.
Of the total coronavirus infection among health workers, 1,451 are deemed active cases, of whom, 982(67.7%) are considered mild while 462 (31.8%) are asymptomatic.
Only seven (0.48%) health workers are in severe condition.
Among the top five medical professions with COVID-19 cases are nurses (721), doctors (616), nursing assistants (124), medical technologists (71), and radiologic technologists 938).
Meanwhile, the death toll among healthcare workers remains at 34.
The Philippines, so far, has 10,463 COVID-19 cases, including 1,734 recoveries and 696 deaths.
