MCWD brings water to Cagayan de Oro

WHEN Cagayan de Oro City was in need of help after being hit by typhoon Sendong, the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) was among the first to respond.

On Dec. 23, MCWD sent two of its five water trucks manned by eight personnel to Cagayan de Oro.

MCWD General Manager Armando Paredes said he coordinated with the water district in Cagayan on the water distribution.

Shipping firm ATS Consolidated Inc. allowed free shipment of the trucks and free rides to MCWD personnel.

The eight-man team worked in tandem on a 12-hour shift until after New Year.

They were Tomas Dinoy, Romeo Castañares, Virgilio Rago Jr., Jovelito Nuñez, Sidney Clark Mancao, Allan Claros, Nelson Cabingatan and Benvienido Perialde, all of the Production and Distribution Department of MCWD.

They returned to Cebu on Jan. 4 with a sense of fulfillment even if they were not able to spend time with their families during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
