DAVAO CITY –– One of the city’s biggest hotels, which had served as this city’s important landmark for more than 20 years, is about to close down reportedly because of the impact of the coronavirus disease pandemic.
Arianne April Cabrera, Marco Polo Davao head for corporate communications, said they heard about the decision reached by the hotel owners, but were still awaiting the official statement from their management.
“Coming from our owners’ decision, the hotel will close. We are still waiting for their official statement and other information,” Cabrera told The Inquirer.
The 245-room hotel that towers over this city’s downtown area started operations in 1998 and would have turned 22 this year.
