Young leaders to discuss good gov’t at NCGG 2012

Some 150 students, teachers and young leaders from all over the country will hold the first National Congress on Good Governance (NCGG) at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, from January 13 to 15.

The three-day congress, sponsored by the UP student government and National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG),  is designed to enhance “the relevance of the youth in achieving sustainable human development through grounded public administration and governance in Philippine society.”

Participants will also spend time with an urban poor community in Payatas, Quezon City, to give them a social perspective during the plenary discussions, said congress chair Julliano Fernando Guiang.

NCGG 2012 is designed “to provide a venue where the nation’s future leaders and public servants can gather to critique, discuss and examine the relevance of current public administration and governance theories and practices,” said Guiang, who also chairs the UP NCPAG student government.

Also expected at the congress, which is supported by the the National Youth Commission, are Sangguniang Kabataan officials and awardees of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations.
