According to the final results of the 2016 Annual Survey of the Philippine Business and Industry recently released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were 5,065 establishments in the real estates activities sector.

Real estate activities include acting as lessor, agents and/or brokers in one or more of the following: selling or buying real estate, renting real estate, providing other estate services such as appraising real estate or acting as real estate escrow agents.

The top industries in terms of number of establishments were self-owned/leased apartment buildings, nonresidential and dwellings (47.1 percent) and real estate buying, developing, subdividing and selling (26.3 percent). —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
