LEGAZPI CITY — Another physician from Albay has tested positive for the novel coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, the Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol reported on Thursday evening.
Tagged as Bicol #50, the 64-year-old female doctor from Daraga town has been admitted at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) in Legazpi City.
According to DOH, she first experienced symptoms on Sunday (May 3).
Daraga Mayor Victor Perete told Inquirer that the patient also works at BRTTH.
This new case comes only five days after the region registered the first doctor to contract the coronavirus.
Bicol now has recorded 50 patients who tested positive for coronavirus, 15 of which are health workers.
