MANILA, Philippines — Three sisters and their accomplice were arrested after police caught them in possession of P6.8 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) at a residential area in Makati City on Wednesday afternoon.

A report from Ermita police station on Thursday identified the suspects as Agatha Caray, 45, Mary Grace Caray, 42, Abegail Caray Calvez, 37, and Jovy Linares, 37.

The suspects were arrested after they sold P1,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in a buy-bust operation at a house in Barangay Tejeros at 2 p.m.

The anti-drug operation was led by Ermita police station under Lt. Col. Ariel Caramoan with help from Makati police station.

Caramoan told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview that they launched the buy-bust after receiving a tip from a confidential informant about the illegal drug activities of the sisters.

Aside from shabu, seized in the operation were marked money worth P1,000, boodle money worth P1,400 and two cellphones.

Caramoan added that they will undertake further investigation to determine the main source of the drugs being peddled by the suspects.

“Mga supplier ng drugs ito. Under investigation kung makukuha yung pinaka source at yun nga rin ang bali-balita sa Barangay Tejeros na nagpapasalamat sila at nahuli at matagal na raw involved sa illegal drugs yung magkakapatid na Caray,” he said.

(These are suppliers of illegal drugs. We are still investigating the source and we received news from witnesses in Barangay Tejeros that they were delighted that these Caray siblings were arrested for being involved in illegal drugs.)

He also noted that the suspects are suppliers of illegal drugs within the National Capital Region.

The suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to Makati City police station while complaints for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
