CITY OF CALAPAN – Four villages in this city will revert to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) status starting Thursday, May 7, Calapan Mayor Arnan Panaligan said on a Facebook post Wednesday night.

This is after four city residents from the villages of Pachoca, Balite, Sta. Isabel and Managpi turned out positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The four patients were exposed to a COVID-19 patient while the city was still under the extended ECQ last month.

Panaligan clarified that for the rest of the city of Calapan, while under GCQ, will still be implementing regulations similar to ECQ.

Establishments which are allowed to open under GCQ will have limitations and regulations for implementation.

Panaligan underscored the importance stringent health protocols such as  wearing of face mask in public and the continued prohibition on mass gatherings.

Even if the rest of the city is now under GCQ, Panaligan urged residents to stay at home except when reporting for work or buying essential goods like food and medicine and carrying out essential tasks.
