MANILA, Philippines — Sixteen military personnel, who are suspected carriers of the new coronavirus, are currently quarantined at the BRP Ang Pangulo pending results of their COVID-19 tests.
The presidential yacht has been converted into a floating health-care facility complete with its medical staff, said Navy public affairs office acting director Lt. Cmdr. Maria Christina Roxas.
Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff Gen. Felimon Santos Jr. meanwhile said that military aircraft and ships had transported health workers and some 500 tons of essential supplies and equipment for the government’s campaign to stop the spread of COVID-19.
