MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which is not expected to develop into a tropical depression.
The LPA was last spotted at 1,640 kilometers east southeast of General Santos City, Pagasa weather specialist Ariel Rojas said in a 4 a.m. weather update.
He said it may enter PAR by Friday and may hit Caraga as it moves northwest.
Meanwhile, the ridge or extension of a High Pressure Area is extending over the Northern and Central Luzon, bringing hot and humid weather in these regions.
The easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean are also bringing hot and humid weather in the rest of the country, according to Rojas.
“Overall, mainit at maalinsangang panahon pa rin ang mararanasan sa buong bansa ngayong araw (Overall, there will be hot and humid weather in the entire country today),” he said.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers will also be experienced over the country, according to Pagasa’s weather bulletin.
No gale warning has been raised by the weather bureau.
“Ang lahat po ng baybayin sa ating bansa, makakaranas ng banayad hanggang sa katamtamang kalagayan ng mga karagatan (The coastal water condition will be light to moderate),” said Rojas.
