11-month-old baby, 3 frontliners recover from COVID-19 in Bicol

GUINOBATAN, Albay, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol recorded five new recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Tuesday, including the region’s youngest patient and three frontliners.

The 11-month-old baby girl from Tinampo village in Ligao City tested positive on Friday, April 30, making her the youngest patient to have contracted coronavirus in the region.

Three frontliners, all of whom tested positive on April 28, have all recovered a week later.

Patients tagged Bicol #36, a 28-year-old woman from Legazpi City, and Bicol #38, a 56-year-old woman from Ligao City, were just two of the 11 health care workers from the region to have contracted the virus.

Patient Bicol #37, meanwhile, is 54-year-old man from Legazpi City and was one of three officials who tested positive for the coronavirus.

Another patient, a 57-year-old woman from Legazpi City also recovered on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, another case of COVID-19 was recorded in Legazpi City, bringing the total number of cases in Bicol region to 47, while the number of active cases stands at eight.

Four have died from coronavirus-related complications in the region.
