PUERTO PRINCESA CITY –– Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez is prepared to ask personal favors from his “friends” to help Palaweños stranded in different areas of the country during the onset of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
“Palawan is a very vital destination. We need help now,” he said in a press briefing aired live on Facebook Tuesday.
Mercy flights would be arranged for their return home, as Alvarez prepared to call in airline giants’ help.
Local stranded residents may also have their names listed for their return home, even though the inter-municipal travel ban is still in full force.
“There is an exception to the rule. I’m sure (Puerto Princesa City) mayor (Lucilo) Bayron will not object as long as required measures and protocols would be observed,” Alvarez said.
Stranded residents are encouraged to call Sagip Palaweño hotline numbers: 0935-515-7055; 0935-515-7056; 0935-515-7058; 0935-515-7060; 0935-515-7077; 0951-982-8753; 0946-567-7342; 0946-567-7108; 0951-982-8754; and 0951-982-8755.
