ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija –– A suspected peddler of illegal drugs from Cabanatuan City was killed in a 5:20 p.m. drug bust on Monday (May 4) in Barangay Sto. Rosario Old, police said.

Major Jaime Ferrer, Zaragoza police chief, said they set up the sting operation against Jomar Ramil after validating information that he continued his illegal trade, despite the enhanced community quarantine to contain the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The suspect, he said, was in the drug watchlist of the Cabanatuan City police.

An undercover policeman was able to buy a sachet of shabu (crystal meth) when Ramil reportedly opened fire. The suspect missed the policeman and was killed by members of his team when they returned fire.
