MANILA, Philippines — Authorities confiscated P61.2-million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and arrested a 26-year-old suspect at an apartment in Taguig City on Monday night, city police said Tuesday.
Police Col. Celso Rodriguez, chief of Taguig police, identified the suspect as Gezel Wesley Oliveros, alias “Boy,” who is a resident of Barangay Ususan in Taguig.
Rodriguez said members of the Taguig Station Drug Enforcement Unit led by Cpt. Salvador Camacho and Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit launched a buy-bust operation inside the suspect’s apartment at 9 p.m.
Oliveros was apprehended after he sold P200 worth of meth to an undercover lawman during the anti-drug operation.
Seized during the bust were nine kilograms of shabu worth P61,200,000, P200 worth of marked money, P98,800 worth of boodle money, weighing scale, bag and cellphone.
Rodriguez said the suspect is not a high profile drug suspect but allegedly supplied illegal drugs to his unidentified contact in Cavite.
Police probers will conduct further investigation to identify the source and accomplice of the suspect.
