MANILA, Philippines—At least three SARS Cov2 testing labs would soon rise in Zamboanga City, the National Task Force on COVID-19 said.
NTF COVID-19 chief implementer and Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. on Saturday (May 2) inspected the three proposed testing labs.
The government is rushing the establishment of testing facilities at the Zamboanga City Medical Center and the Department of Agriculture’s PCR laboratory.
The Philippine Red Cross will also set up its own laboratory in the city. These labs will cater to patients from Zamboanga Peninsula and the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi, the task force said.
Galvez said the government was ramping up the country’s capacity to “trace, test and treat” COVID-19 patients by setting up more testing facilities across the country.
