Information from his office showed the first batch of PPEs was turned over to East Avenue Medical Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Heart Center, and National Kidney and Transplant Institute, with each hospital receiving around 250 pieces of PPE gowns.

“Lapid is one with the nation in appreciating the hard work and efforts of our brave doctors, nurses, and medical staff in the fight against COVID 19 crisis,” read a statement from his office.

“The Senator believes that providing our beloved health workers with enough PPE’s is the least we can do to protect them and express our gratitude for their heroic work, as they risk their own lives saving our nation from this pandemic,” the statement added.

To date, there are 1,758 healthworkers who are stricken by the disease, of which 1,428 are active cases.
