SANTA ROSA CITY, Philippines — Five towns in the province of Laguna still have zero reported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of Saturday, May 2.
In a Facebook post, Governor Ramil Hernandez said the municipalities of Luisiana, Magdalena, Pangil, Santa Maria and Siniloan have not reported a single confirmed case of COVID-19.
Hernandez lauded the five local government units for effectively keeping the novel coronavirus at bay.
“Good job sa Pamahalaang Pambayan, mga kawani nito at mga mamamayan sa pagpapanatiling COVID-FREE ng inyong lugar,” he said.
In the Laguna Provincial Health Office’s latest bulletin, the province has 297 confirmed cases with 93 recoveries and 29 deaths.
Meanwhile, 119 patients are still admitted in various hospitals while 55 are under home quarantine.
