Bicol COVID-19 watch: 46 total cases as health worker, 2 others test positive
LEGAZPI CITY – Two residents in this city and a health worker from Daraga, Albay tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Saturday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 46, the Department of Health (DOH) Bicol regional office reported.
Eleven of the COVID-19 positive patients are healthcare professionals.
The DOH said the latest healthcare workers who contracted COVID-19 is a 29-year-old male who first experienced symptoms on April 24.
His history of exposure was being established as of Saturday.
The two new patients from Legazpi City, the DOH said, were exposed to frontliners and healthcare workers.
One of the patients, a 53-year-old male, was exposed to a frontliner from Victory Village, while the 32-year-old female patient was a close contact of a healthcare worker from Sagpon village.
Article continues after this advertisementAll three patients consulted Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital, but DOH and their respective local government units have yet to give updates on whether or not they have been admitted to the hospital for isolation.
Albay has reverted back to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) also on Saturday, a welcome development in the province as 24 more suspected COVID-19 patients await the result of their swab tests.
