DOT transports stranded local tourists
MANILA Phlippines — The Department of Tourism’s National Capital Region (DOT-NCR) office has begun transporting Metro Manila local tourists who have been stranded in various provinces due to the lockdown in Luzon.
Among those who arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Saturday were 138 domestic tourists from Butuan, 249 from Iloilo and 202 from Davao. They were flown in by sweeper flights mounted by Cebu Pacific Air.
As of press time, one more sweeper flight from Cebu is on its way to Manila. The DOT-NCR said it was expecting as many as 1,100 Metro Manila tourists stranded in the provinces to arrive at Naia.
