PAGADIAN CITY—-The entire police force, health care personnel and mayor of Tudela town in Misamis Occidental were placed on quarantine after they came in contact with a health worker who tested positive for new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Capt. Alibsar Daraba, officer-in-charge of Tudela municipal police, said various police stations in the province deployed personnel for temporary assignment in the town.
Daraba is loaned from the Oroquieta City police office and his team is composed of cops from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and police stations of Aloran, Clarin, Sinacaban, Calamba, and Lopez Jaena towns and Tangub City.
Daraba said the entire regular force of Tudela police was quarantined for 14 days in one of the town’s resorts.
Tudela town Mayor Samuel Parojinog said he and all nurses and doctors assigned at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) were also quarantined.
According to Parojinog, they are awaiting the deployment of health workers into the town by the Department of Health so its RHU operations can continue unhampered.
Parojinog, the cops, and health workers of the town were exposed to a nurse who took care and monitored a COVID-19 patient who later died.
Because of the nurse’s exposure, she was placed on isolation and swabbed for testing. Her test showed her positive for COVID-19 infection.
The nurse is the third COVID-19 case in Misamis Occidental.
