LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Three more corona disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in Quezon have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries in the province to 12, health authorities disclosed Friday evening.
In its 6 p.m. bulletin (May 1), the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO), citing a report from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), announced that three former validated COVID-19 patients have been added to the list of recovered patients.
The Lucena Public Information Office, citing a report from the local Inter-Agency Task Force, revealed that of the three recuperated patients in the QPIO report, at least two are health workers from the city.
With the latest report, Lucena has recorded five recovered patients out of its 27 listed COVID-19 cases.
The recorded confirmed coronavirus carriers in the province remain at 66.
But with the recovered, cleared, and discharged patients to 12 and the death of seven others, the number of active COVID-19 carriers in the province is now down to 47.
Quezon still remain with 1,045 suspected coronavirus disease (COVID-19) carriers, an increase of 722 new cases from its Thursday list of only 323.
On Friday evening, the QPIO on its Facebook explained that the huge increase was due to the combination of COVID-19 cases under the old “person under investigation” (PUI) classification and the number of cases under the “suspect” category based from the new Department of Health guidelines.
The QPIO report also showed that the province has one “probable” COVID-19 patient. Delfin T. Mallari Jr., @dtmallarijrINQ, Inquirer Southern Luzon
