Did You Know: 115,998 retail, wholesale establishments in 2016
According to the final results of the 2016 Annual Survey of the Philippine Business and Industry recently released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, there were 115,998 establishments in the wholesale and retail trade.
This sector includes any type of goods and the rendering of services incidental to the sale of these goods. Also included in this section is the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
The top three industries in terms of establishments are retail sale of wearing apparel except for footwear (8 percent), retail sale of drugs and pharmaceutical goods (6.6 percent), and sale of motorcycles and their parts and components (5.5 percent).
