MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government has approved a supplemental budget of P1.9 billion to provide P4,000 each in financial assistance to qualified poor families excluded from the national government’s social amelioration program (SAP).
“No one should be left out. All qualified families should be given assistance, that’s why we approved this additional funding,” said Mayor Joy Belmonte.
The supplemental fund will also be used to support vulnerable sectors under the city’s own financial assistance program called Kalingang QC and to buy additional food packs for residents, the city government said on Tuesday.
Of the total amount, P479 million will be used to purchase relief goods.
