A six-month-old baby girl with heart and lung problems in Liverpool, England, has survived COVID-19 after testing positive for the coronavirus on April 10.

Among her health issues was Tetralogy of Fallot, a combination of congenital abnormalities, as per a Facebook group named Erin’s Journey, which her parents Emma and Wayne set up on April 21. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the said health problem is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through a baby’s heart.

The Alder Hey hospital announced her recovery on its page last Friday, April 24 alongside a clip of medical staff applauding her while she was escorted out of a room.

The medical center stated that Erin had been in one if its isolation rooms for 14 days with her mom Emma while she was receiving treatment. When Erin was moved out of the unit, she received a “guard of [honor]” from the team which took care of her.

However, Erin has not yet been discharged from the hospital and is still being treated for her other health conditions. The hospital also pointed out that she is making “good progress.”

Emma later shared clips of her baby girl being transported out of the isolation unit as well.

“She’s only gone and done it,” the proud mother said. “Our little girl has beat COVID-19.” JB
