3 fishermen rescued in Subic Bay

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales Three fishermen were rescued in Subic Bay after their boat capsized due to strong waves on Friday, local authorities said.

The fishermen, all residents of Barangay Matain in Subic town, came from Morong, Bataan, and were heading home when huge waves damaged their boat, according to a report from the harbor patrol of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).

Workers at the Grande Island Resort spotted and rescued the distressed fishermen around 5:30 p.m. The fishermen, two of them minors, were later turned over to the SBMA harbor patrol.
