A total of 66 residents of Sampaloc, Manila, were swabbed for coronavirus tests while 236 individuals underwent rapid testing on Friday after the district was placed under 48-hour “hard lockdown,” Manila health officials said.
Using Food and Drug Administration-approved rapid antibody test kits, 236 Sampaloc residents were tested for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The city government aims to test 1,000 selected residents with flu-like symptoms, those who were exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case, senior citizens and those with comorbidities.
Those who test positive will be brought to a holding facility and undergo a confirmatory test. Of the 547 confirmed cases in Manila, Sampaloc accounted for 110 cases. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
