The body of a woman was found stuffed into a brown trolley bag at the parking lot of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 in Pasay City Wednesday.
Car park security guard Maria Theresa Garbo said she found the traveling bag beside a lamp post as she was doing her rounds around 7:50 a.m.
It was partly hidden behind several plants, she added.
Following standard operating procedure, Garbo said she reported her discovery to her superior who alerted members of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-ASG).
A check of the bag tag identified the owner as “Nepz Aily Bahjin.” Thinking that it had been left behind by a forgetful passenger, Garbo said she had the owner paged through the airport’s public address system twice.
No one, however, came to claim the bag until dog sniffers from the K-9 unit of the PNP-ASG arrived.
The police cordoned off the area as the bomb-sniffing dog checked the bag. When it was confirmed that it did not contain any explosives, the bag was opened to reveal the body of a woman, believed to be in her mid-20s, in a fetal position.
The victim, who had contusions on her face, was clad in a light blue blouse and black leggings.
Almost an hour later, another body was found in the city, this time of a man, inside a drum on Tolentino Street, according to Chief Inspector Joey Goforth, Pasay Police chief investigator.
Goforth said the man had two stab wounds in the neck. “Based from the tattoos, it seems this man has been in and out of jail,” he told the Inquirer.
The man had no other means of identification, he added.
