Another Albay nurse tests positive for COVID-19

LEGAZPI CITY –– Another nurse from a private hospital in Albay tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The patient is the second health worker from the province to be afflicted with the disease.

Antonio Ludovice, chief of the Provincial Health Office, said the 21-year-old female patient might have contracted the virus from the 28-year-old nurse who also tested positive of COVID-19.

He said the patient was asymptomatic and now quarantined at the private hospital.

At least 10 persons had a throat swab in the said hospital on Monday, after confirming the positive case, Ludovice said.

Ernie Vera, director of the Department of Health in Bicol, said in a press release on Tuesday that the first nurse from Daraga town already tested negative for COVID-19.

She was exposed to the 74-year-old COVID-19 patient who died last Sunday.
