DAVAO CITY- Mayor Sara Duterte warned people against going to Buhangin and Talomo districts here now that the two areas recently turned into hotspots for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the city.
The mayor said Talomo topped the other districts in the city as the number of COVID-19 positive patients in the area climbed up to 28 of April 18; Talomo is closely followed by Buhangin district which COVID-19!cases suddenly spiked to 24, the mayor said in an interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio.
“There are areas in Buhangin (district) that are somewhat far (but) those areas near the Poblacion have COVID-19 cases; and if we base it on our alert level, the district is now on red alert,” she said.
She also noted 11 COVID-19 cases in Poblacion area.
The mayor said the implementation of barangay clustering- which would limit the movement of people within a barangay cluster where they belong, would prevent other barangays to be contaminated by areas that already had a lot of cases.
She urged the people to strictly follow the city’s scheme of things since its aim would only be to contain the spread of the virus that caused COVID-19.
