Enchong Dee donates PPE sets, food for COVID-19 volunteers to OVP

MANILA, Philippines — Actor Enchong Dee has donated 500 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) and food for COVID-19 volunteers to the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

In a Facebook post, Vice President Leni Robredo said the Kapamilya actor personally delivered the PPE sets and food on Tuesday, April 21.

OVP has been playing an active role in delivering much-needed assistance to COVID-19 frontliners.

Robredo’s office has led a fund drive for the purchase of PPE sets, offered free shuttle service for health workers and health facility employees, donated P5.3 million worth of extraction kits to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, opened free dormitories for health frontliners, and accepted donations of food for health care workers and other frontliners from private donors.

To date, the Philippines has 6,599 confirmed cases of the infectious respiratory illness, including 654 recoveries and 437 deaths.

However, the Department of Health said the rate of the spread of the coronavirus has now slowed down thanks to the extended Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
