MANILA, Philippines — The southern part of Metro Manila has so far the highest number of lockdown violators in the National Capital Region (NCR), Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.

In an online press briefing, PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said the Southern Police District (SPD) documented 15,475 violators of the enhanced community quarantine.

“Ang basehan namin is yung number of violations na nangyari sa iba’t ibang distrito ng Metro Manila so dito ang may pinakamataas yung violation in the total of 15,475 are Southern Police District,” Gamboa said when asked about the most challenging area for enforcing lockdown measures in Metro Manila.

(We based our findings on the number of violations in different districts in Metro Manila, so here the highest number of violations in a total of 15,475 are at the Southern Police District.)

The SPD oversees law enforcement in Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Taguig, Pateros, and Makati.

The Northern Police District has the second-highest number of violators with 7,407, followed by Eastern Police District and Quezon City Police District with around 2,000 and Manila Police District with 1,714 violators.
