45 teams see action in Lagtang Council Cup

A TOTAL of 45 competing teams divided into 4 divisions — Midget, 40-Above, Juniors and Seniors have enlisted in the barangay Lagtang Council’s Cup-2012 basketball tournament which opened last Sunday at the Lagtang covered court in Talisay City, Cebu.

Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez attended the opening program hosted by Lagtang barangay chief Mark Ferdinand Bas. Magpale gave an inspirational message to the hundreds of participants.

In the search for Best Muse, Luck Lance Macapobre, a 4th year Psychology student of Cebu Normal University (CNU) was crowned Miss Lagtang Council’s Cup-2012.

In the opening game, Yshmael routed Burlas King, 67-57, in the Midget division while in the 40-Above division, Earl Dwight Express tripped Clinica Dentista, 61-56.

In the Juniors division, Venice dumped Choy Aznar, 62-55 with Jovan Puebla and Kevin Cabriana leading the onslaught while in the main game of the Seniors division, Alona Kew scored a come-from-behind, 81-76 win over Shenica. Shenica led in the first three periods but Alona Kew outscored the former, 26-20 in the fourth to snatch the victory.

This event is made possible through the effort of the Commissioners staff and Lagtang barangay councilor Rick Abatayo and Boy Enad Echavez for their financial support.
