Taguig City expands amelioration packages
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Taguig on Friday has expanded its social amelioration packages totaling P456 million for other indigent and marginalized sectors in the city who were not covered by the national government’s massive aid program.
On Saturday, Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano also officiated the inauguration of the Lakeshore Hall quarantine facility in Lower Bicutan to address the lack of hospital facilities to accommodate patients.
Cayetano said the packages were on top of the assistance programs of the city. Under this new program, around 25,000 scholars would be receiving P5,000 in aid.
Some 68,000 senior citizens and 12,000 persons with disabilities would also receive P4,000, while 1,000 fishermen, vendors and farmers duly registered in the city would also be receiving P4,000.
