31 COVID-19 patients in PH in critical condition — DOH
MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-one patients in the country are currently fighting for their lives as they battle the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday that 31 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition. This is less than 1% of the total number of cases in the country which is at 5,660.
There are also 65 patients, or 1%, who are severe cases, while 4,237 or 75% have mild symptoms.
A total of 530 patients or 9% experience no symptoms at all.
The DOH assured that it was monitoring COVID-19 cases experiencing mild symptoms, some of them recuperating as they are quarantined in their own homes.
Article continues after this advertisement“Patuloy nating mino-monitor ang mga mild confirmed cases, ilan sa kanila ay nasa bahay na nagpapagaling at ilan naman sa kanila ay admitted sa hospitals,” Special Assistant to the Health Secretary Beverly Ho said in a virtual press briefing.

Ho explained that patients would have to undergo repeat COVID-19 tests to determine whether they still have the coronavirus or not.
So far, the country has 5,660 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 362 deaths and 435 recoveries.
