Hot and humid weather to prevail over PH due to easterlies, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Hot and humid weather will prevail across the country on Thursday due to the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, the state weather bureau said.

Ezra Bulquerin, weather specialist at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said there is no low pressure area or any weather disturbance being expected to occur in the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next three to five days.

He added that within 24 hours, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have a generally fair weather.

“Expect po natin ‘yung mga biglaang pag-ulan pagdating ng hapon o gabi pero generally fair weather po ‘yung magiging panahon natin. Bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap ang mga kalangitan,” he said.

(We can expect sudden rains in the afternoon or evening but generally there will be fair weather. The skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy.)

Visayas and Mindanao will also have fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and episodes of isolated rains in the afternoon or evening.

Bulquerin said the wind and coastal water condition will be moderate in the northern and eastern section of the country and will be light to moderate for the rest of the country.

No gale warning has been raised by the weather bureau.

“Malaya pong makakalayag ang mga kababayan nating mangigisda o ‘yung mga may maliit na sasakyang pandagat, pwede po silang pumalaot (Fishermen or those with small fishing vessels can freely go to the waters),” added Bulquerin.

Metro Manila: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 16 to 24 degrees Celsius
Laoag City:  23 to 33 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 24 to 36 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay City: 23 to 29 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
Iloilo: 27 to 36 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 33 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 23 to 34 degrees Celsius
Davao City: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
