21 residents in locked-down Manila village tested for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 21 residents from a barangay in Manila that authorities earlier placed on lockdown for 24 hours were tested on Wednesday for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
They were considered probable cases “because they had signs and symptoms [of the disease while] some [had been] exposed to a confirmed case,” Manila health department director Arnold Pangan told the Inquirer.
The 21 residents of Barangay 20 Zone 2 in Parola, Tondo, were picked up by policemen and personnel from the city health department clad in personal protective equipment suits. They were taken to the Delpan Quarantine Facility for COVID-19 testing.
