MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Muntinlupa City said that three more COVID-19 cases were recorded in the area, bringing the total cases to 101.
Of the total number of cases, 17 succumbed to the viral disease, while 14 managed to recover, according to the latest data provided by the local government as of 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Previously, Muntinlupa City had 98 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the city also has 133 active suspect cases, as well as 55 active probable cases.
The Philippines currently has 5,423 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of these include 353 recoveries and 349 deaths, as per the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday.
The COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that first emerged in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province in China in late 2019.
The disease was caused by a novel coronavirus, which was later named as SARS-CoV-2 by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses.
