MANILA, Philippines —The local government of Pasig has partnered with The Medical City (TMC) to address backlogs of testing persons checked for possible infection of the novel coronavirus.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto announced on his Facebook page that they signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with
TMC for remaining tests of probable and suspects of the disease.
“It’s official! We have been partners with The Medical City from the beginning. Now, with this MOA, we will be able to address our PUI-testing backlog in around 1 week,” Sotto said.

To recall, Philippine health department changed the classification for persons under investigation (PUIs) for the coronavirus disease, namely probable and suspects.
Suspects are PUIs who have not been tested while probable are PUIs who are awaiting test results from their respective laboratories.
Sotto said the ceremonial signing was done at the Pasig City’s COVID-19 referral facility, which is the Pasig City Children’s Hospital (PCCH).
The mayor said the step-down area was established at the PCCH, which will treat stable and recovering patients.
As of April 14, Pasig has 205 patients diagnosed with the coronavirus disease, including 45 recoveries and 37 deaths.
