MANILA, Philippines — Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, who recently recovered from COVID-19, said Wednesday that he will donate plasma to help other patients who contracted the coronavirus disease.

“Yes. Makikipagugnayan ako sa DOH [Department of Health] kung ano requirement nila kung ako magiging qualified para magdonate. Kung makatutulong tayo para magligtas ng buhay gagawin natin yan,” Año said over radio station dzMM when asked if he plans to donate his plasma for COVID-19 patients.

(Yes. I will coordinate with the DOH on their requirements if I am eligible to donate. If we can help save lives, we can do that.)

On Monday, April 13, Año said he already tested negative for the test conducted by the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine on April 8.

“Negative na ang result ng latest COVID test ko that was conducted last April 8. Wala ng virus na nadetect sa throat ko,” he said.
