25-year-old male is latest COVID-19 case in Valenzuela; total now at 47

MANILA, Philippines — A 25-year-old male is the latest confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Valenzuela City.

This brought the total of coronavirus-infected residents in the city to 47 on Wednesday, the city government said.

No other details were provided about the new patient.

The local government assured that its epidemiology and surveillance unit is “monitoring all the confirmed cases and conducting contact tracing.”

The number of fatalities, meanwhile, remained at four while recoveries remained at three.

As of April 14, the barangay in the city that posted the highest number of suspected coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients was Gen. T. De Leon at 31, followed by Marulas at 24.

No barangay has reported any probable case of the disease, according to the city government.

The Philippines so far has 5,233 COVID-19 cases, with 335 fatalities and 295 recoveries.
