1 COVID-19 patient dies in Quezon
LUCENA CITY –– Another confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient died in Quezon province, bringing the total number of local fatalities from the illness to six.
In its 8 a.m. bulletin Wednesday, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO), citing data from the Integrated Provincial Health Office, reported the death of a COVID-19 carrier from Sariaya town.
The QPIO did not provide other details on the latest fatality.
The five other validated coronavirus casualties, all elderly people aged 55 to 79, were from the towns of Unisan, Candelaria, Calauag, Infanta, and Tiaong.
The latest bulletin showed the rise of COVID-19 cases in Quezon to 37. The victim from Sariaya was the only addition to Tuesday’s list of 36.
At least three patients from Lucena City, Tayabas City, and Sariaya town, tested negative and were discharged from the hospitals.
Article continues after this advertisementWith the recovery of the three patients and the death of six others, the number of active COVID-19 carriers in the province is down to 28.
Lucena has 13, Tayabas has five, the towns of Pagbilao, Unisan, and Candelaria have two each, and one case each from the municipalities of Pitogo, Sariaya, Sampaloc, and Real.
