Baguio hospital scales down operations after nurse contracts COVID-19

BAGUIO CITY — The Baguio General Hospital and Medical Hospital has scaled down operations to disinfect its buildings after a 33-year-old male nurse contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to the hospital’s medical director, Dr. Ricardo Ruñez Jr., on Wednesday (April 15).

Ruñez said the hospital – one of the primary facilities in the provinces that is equipped to test and isolate COVID-19 patients – has also deployed measures to protect its other patients and medical staff.

The male nurse, who is now the city’s 17th COVID-19 case, resides at Woodsgate Subdivision along Kennon Road, said the city public information office.
