MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa City government said on Tuesday said that it had recorded 98 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in its area — an increase 0f 21 from the 77 tallied on Monday.
Of the total number of patients in the city, 14 recovered and 15 died.
Meanwhile, the city has seven active probable cases of COVID-19 and 172 active suspect cases.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), the classification for COVID-19 cases was revised to ensure the “uniform reporting” of cases nationwide.
A suspect case now refers to someone who suffers from fever, cough or sore throat two weeks after he had come in contact with a confirmed case or had visited place with local transmission of COVID-19.
Besides showing symptoms, a suspect case is one or more of the following: elderly, some with preexisting ailments, pregnant, or a health care worker.
A probable case is a person whose COVID-19 results are uncertain, having been tested in an unofficial laboratory that does RT-PCR test.
So far, the DOH has recorded 5,233 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of whom 295 have recovered and 335 have died.
