LEGAZPI CITY –– The local task force against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in this city has shortened the hours for residents to buy essential goods amid the enhanced community quarantine.
Mayor Noel Rosal, in an executive order, said starting Wednesday, residents with quarantine pass would be allowed to go out only from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. to buy basic commodities and medicines and attend to emergencies.
Sari-sari stores, groceries, supermarkets, banks, food establishments with drive-thru services, public markets, food stalls, and mobile markets would be allowed to operate only until 3 p.m.
Drug stores and medical institutions were excluded from the new scheme.
Commercial establishments were encouraged to open as early as 7 a.m. to maximize the window hours and avoid overcrowding.
The franchise of public utility vehicles and the business permits of commercial establishments found operating beyond the window hours would be canceled.
