MANILA, Philippines — Continuous price irregularities in the market have prompted the Department of Agriculture (DA) to expand the list of commodities covered by the suggested retail price (SRP) scheme.
Agriculture Secretary William Dar announced that other rice variants like special, premium, well-milled and regular milled rice, pork, eggs and cooking oil are now included.
Other products covered by the SRP are tilapia, bangus, galunggong, onion, garlic and sugar.
Violators would be fined between P5,000 and P2 million and could face a jail term between five and 15 years.
