12,000 Filipinos from cruise ships repatriated

MANILA, Philippines — Close to 12,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) mostly from coronavirus-stricken cruise ships have been repatriated since February due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 290 crew members from Oceania and Norwegian Cruises arrived from Miami on Sunday.

On Saturday night, 208 crew members of MS Norwegian Jade from the United Arab Emirates arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

They were told to undergo a 14-day home quarantine. Their arrival brought to 11,903 the total number of repatriated OFWs.
