Albay town records 4th COVID-19 case; Bicol cases rise to 17

GUINOBATAN, Albay—The fourth coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case was recorded in this town Friday, April 10, bringing the total number of patients positive of the disease in Bicol to 17.

Guinobatan Mayor Ann Ongjoco said the new case, a 31-year-old patient, is the daughter of the first COVID-19 patient in this town and was residing in the same compound. She added that the patient is in stable condition and is on home quarantine.

Bicol’s fourth, eighth and ninth cases, who are all related, are all from Guinobatan.

“The lockdown in their compound will be extended for 14 more days,” Ongjoco told Inquirer.

The compound has been in lockdown since the evening of March 28.

“The doctors said that PH1320 (Bicol’s fourth patient), has a lot of viral load,” Ongjoco told Inquirer, adding that the mother and daughter will remain on home quarantine.

The Department of Health (DOH) Bicol said that both patients are in stable condition.

Meanwhile, DOH Bicol said that they have recorded 10 recoveries after a 60-year-old patient in Camarines Sur tested negative for the coronavirus, also on Friday.

Twenty-eight persons under investigation (PUIs) in the region have tested negative for the disease.
