Number of Bulacan residents infected with COVID-19 now at 58

MANILA, Philippines — The province of Bulacan has registered 12 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infected locals to 58, the Provincial Health Office said in an update on Friday.

According to the health office, this was after Bulacan recorded 46 cases on Wednesday.  Aside from these, another patient has died while another one was reported to have recovered from the disease.

The new cases include a one from Obando town, two persons each from Sta. Maria and Marilao, one each from San Jose Del Monte, Bustos, Bocaue, Malolos, Bulakan, Baliwag, and Bocaue.

The latest fatality was a 51-year-old male patient from Malolos.

As of Friday, Bulacan has 577 active patients under investigation awaiting tests results, while 135 more have been cleared; meanwhile, there are 1,528 patients under monitoring in the province.

Bulacan and the rest of Luzon are still under the enhanced community quarantine due to the rising COVID-19 cases.  As of now, Department of Health officials said that there are now 4,195 infected patients nationwide, 221 of which have already died while at least 140 have recovered.

Worldwide, over 1.6 million individuals have been infected, while 95,357 have died from the disease and 353,480 have recovered from it.
