990AM: DoH urges parents to prepare their children’s ‘baon’

MANILA, Philippines – The health department urged parents to prepare the food their children bring to school to protect them from diseases, a Radyo Inquirer report said Monday.

Quoting Department of Health assistant secretary Dr. Eric Tayag, the report stated that parents should take the initiative to prepare food for their children as street food may not be clean or healthy.

Tayag also warned the public of ‘magic sugar,’ an artificial sweetener which may be mixed into drinks sold by street vendors which he said may cause vomiting and diarrhea.

For the report, listen to Radyo Inquirer, 990AM. [jwplayer mediaid=”12585″ bufferlength=”10″]
